About us
Eighteen years of one ribbon, done properly
We started in 2008 and we still weave the same thing — grosgrain. We have just got a great deal better at it.
The story
Why we never added satin
Every year someone suggests we add satin, or lace, or elastic. We have said no each time.
A ribbon mill that makes six different products does none of them well. The dyeing recipes get mixed up, the looms are reset twice a week, and the steadiness that brought the customer in quietly disappears.
So we weave grosgrain and its cousin petersham, and nothing else. That is why we can hold a shade across a 1,00,000 m order, quote a firm date in a market where almost nobody does, and tell a buyer honestly when grosgrain is the wrong ribbon for what they are making.
It is a family business. When something goes wrong on your order, you speak to one of us.

Come and watch a lot being made
Most of our long-term customers started with a factory visit. We will run your width on a loom while you watch, dye a strike-off, and you can take both home the same day.

Eighteen years, one ribbon
If grosgrain is a line item you have been fighting with — shade drift between lots, a soft edge, dates that slip — one sample order is enough to see the difference.
